About the Artist:
Alana Evans is a contemporary painter inspired by the landscapes of British Columbia. Working in oil, she uses bold colour and expressive mark-making to explore themes of memory, emotion, and belonging. Her work reflects a deep connection to place, blending layered techniques with a dynamic, painterly approach. A graduate of Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Evans lives and works in Langley, BC.
Join artist Alana Evans for an introduction to plein air painting. Working in oils, you’ll learn techniques for composing a landscape, building transparent layers of colour, and creating a finished alla prima painting. Instruction will focus on simplifying the landscape into strong shapes and developing confident colour-mixing skills—from primary colours to rich, dynamic palettes.
